Charity event for Save College House QEHS,.................. Why call it Sandar's Speed Day?

The reason we are calling this fund raising event for College House, Sandar's Speed Day is because had it not have been for the generosity of the Sandars Family by gifting College House as a place of education to the people of Gainsborough we would not have such a special historic building today. The Sandars family helped build the Malting industry in Gainsborough, gave inspiration to the industrial revolution from the late 1700 to late 19th century. Mr Sandar married the daughter of Mr Marshall in the late 1700s and one of his sons married the daughter of Mr Rose both famous Gainsborough families synonymous with the industrial revolution we all know of today in this area. Mr Sandars had business connections with both national & international companies throughout the 200 year history of the family.

We are going to bring more Bentleys to Blyton than has ever been there before and we will have some very exciting news on Mr Sandar's 1929 Bentley Blower as graced the streets of Gainsborough & Lincolnshire all those years ago
